MBC Mental Game Moment

 

It is summer time, and hopefully you are going to spend some time on the lanes improving and preparing for next season.  Now would be a good time to review and make some new goals for your practice sessions.  To make your practices effective before next season, each one needs to have a purpose and a goal.  You have learned many things in your Members’ Area on MyBowlingCoach.com, so use this information to help you form your new revised goals.  Work on that release you’ve been wanting to master.  Increase your spare percentage on those corner pins.  Anything you want to improve you can turn into a goal and this will help you to chart your progress and stay motivated to achieve your goal.  We wish you the best this summer!

We Want Your Questions!

 

In the last few years, we have received some very good and interesting questions from our members about our great sport.  We have featured them on the Q & A page in your Members’ Area and on some of the Chat with the Coaches video lessons.  Take this opportunity to send yours in now!  We answer one question a week on the site and leave all of them on the page for you to review.  Most questions can apply to many of our members, so we encourage you to read through them.

Learned Anything New Lately?

 

One fun thing about coaching is that many times the coach learns from the student.  Maybe the bowler tried something ‘crazy’ and it worked, or took some coaching knowledge and put a little twist on it.  Whatever the case, we hear of interesting (and sometimes very effective) new ways to look at old problems.  If you have something you’ve tried or have heard of that is not typical coaching advice, please let us know.  We want to collect some tips from our members and then pass them on to all MBC bowlers.  We will either post them in a newsletter or we might even do a video segment on it.  Who knows?

---March 17, 2008---

MBC has added another coach to the staff!  And now we have gone international!  We are pleased to announce that Alex Hamilton from England in now part of the MBC Team.  Alex brings a lot of experience in the bowling industry to you and our site.  He will be writing articles for his section of the site in your Members' Area entitled "Alex's Euro Angle."  Be sure to check it out.  Alex will also be assisting us with some of our international clinics.  Welcome, Alex!  We are thrilled to have you.

 

---January 22, 2008---

MBC has added a new coach to the staff!  Ken Yokobosky has joined MBC and will be contributing monthly articles, Q and A's, and lessons.  He is a USBC Gold Coach who has been coaching with Team USA for the past 8 years.  He is a fantastic coach who works with bowlers of all skill levels and ages.  To check out his articles, just log on and go to the Members' Area and click on the icon box titled 'Coach Ken's Corner'.  Ken will bring much knowledge and insight to you, our loyal members.

 

---September 20, 2007---

You now have added content in your Members' Area!  We have just created printable handouts and Audio/MP3 downloads for every one of your All Levels Videos!  MBC wants to give you more for your membership, so now you have handouts and audio downloads for all 8 videos you receive every 4 weeks.  Go back and print out these handouts and add them to your MBC binder and enjoy the extra notes we have taken the time to create for you!

 

---August 24, 2007---

There's a new feature on your Members' Page.  Under your welcome message you'll notice a new link called 'See All the Lessons.'  Click on that and it will bring up our brand new Lesson Index for your convenience.  This will allow you to see all the lessons you have on one page.  They are all linked to that particular lesson or handout or quiz so you click on it and be immediately connected to it.  You can also search for a particular topic you are interested in.  For example, you want to learn more about the release today.  Type in 'release' and your Lesson Index will search for and list all of your available lessons related to the release.  We hope you enjoy this new feature in your Members' Area!

We've added yet another section to your Members' Area!  Check out the new Sport Bowling page.  We plan to use this section for tips and strategies on playing the challenging lane conditions that Sport Bowling offers.  We've partnered with the knowedgeable people at USBC Sport Bowling to give you the best and most current information available.
