Jeri Edwards has had much success in her careers as a bowler, writer, and
instructor. On the lanes, she was a
4-year varsity member of the Pennsylvania State University Bowling Program. She graduated in 1984 with a
Bachelors degree in marketing. While
at Penn
State, she won the prestigious Billy Welu
Scholarship award.
Jeri is a professional champion as well.
She won the LPBT Greater Atlanta Open in 1990. She was also a member of the winning
team in the WIBC National Tournament in
Carson City, Nevada
in 1988. Jeri has been an
Illinois and Chicago WIBC champion, an Ohio and Akron WIBC champion, and a collegiate champion. In 1980, she was a champion in
Illinois State High School Bowling.
She has posted high career scores of 300 and 812.
On the writing and video instructing side of the game, Jeri has been involved in
many successful and educational projects.
She was an editor for Bowling Digest for seven years and is currently a
featured writer for US Bowler. She
co-authored several publications including the text for the USA Junior Olympic
Bowling Level One, "Advanced Adjustment," and "The Handbook of Bowling
Psychology."
She has co-hosted many instructional videos, many of them with Fred Borden. Among them are "Bowling the Family
Sport," "The Master Plan to Great Bowling," "Bowling: For Women Only," "Learn
the Curve," "Bowling — The Fun Sport," and "Bowling Rocks."
Her coaching accomplishments are second to none.
She is a USBC Gold Certified Coach and is currently the Head Coach for
Team USA. In
that role, she has guided her teams to numerous gold medals in international
competitions. Jeri served as
Assistant Coach to Fred on Team
USA
from 1991-1996 and again from 2000-2003.
She was Head Coach for a brief time with Junior Team USA in 2002 and 2003. She is one of the creators and
leaders of the Borden/Edwards School of Bowling.
She was a Professional Bowling Camps instructor from 1981-1991. Jeri also regularly travels the world
to teach clinics and seminars to bowlers of all ages and skill levels.
There are some other notable accomplishments in Jeri's bowling careers. She was Co-Tournament Director for
the Senior Masters in 1996, 1997, and 1998.
She served the same role for the Bayer/Brunswick Touring Players
Championship in 1998, 1999, and 2000.
She was President of the Akron Bowling Proprietors Association from
1998-2001.
She was the only woman to ever serve as a Board Member on the National ABC Board
of Directors from 2002-2004. In
